Borosilicate Thermowell | 24/40 Joint | 45 mm Stem

The 24/40 Thermo Well with 45mm Stem is a compact borosilicate glass interface for positioning a compatible thermometer or temperature probe in laboratory apparatus. It features a standard 24/40 ground-glass connection and a short 45 mm stem, making it an option for setups where a longer thermowell would extend too far into the vessel.

The 24/40 joint is designed for glassware using the same taper designation. Check both the joint and available internal clearance before assembly. The 45 mm stem should be positioned so it does not interfere with stir bars, agitators, vessel walls, or other internal components. Different ground-glass joint sizes are not directly interchangeable.

A 24/40 Thermo Well with 45mm Stem protects and positions the sensing device but does not measure temperature by itself. Reading accuracy, response time, and usable temperature range depend on the installed thermometer or probe, insertion depth, fit within the well, calibration, and process conditions. Follow the sensor manufacturer's operating limits and instructions.

Inspect the glass stem and joint before use for chips, cracks, deep scratches, impact damage, or defects around the sealing surface. Do not force a temperature probe into the thermowell. Support the surrounding apparatus as needed and avoid mechanical loads that could stress the joint. Cleaning methods should be compatible with the substances handled and with borosilicate laboratory glass.
